About Sal
Sal Morando, LMT
Board-Certified Massage Therapist | Myoskeletal Alignment & Orthopedic Specialist
I have always been interested in health and the body. During my second year of college and still unsure of the healthcare direction I wanted to take, I lost a large portion of my eye sight to a rare mitochondrial disease, called Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy. I am now considered legally blind. For a while, I assumed my health related career was impossible, but I was enlightened when I discovered the field of massage therapy and bodywork.
I am a specialized Licensed Massage Therapist with advanced certifications in Orthopedic Massage and Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (MAT). My practice is defined by a rigorous, results-oriented approach that bridges the gap between manual therapy and physical rehabilitation. By focusing on the relationship between the nervous system and the skeletal structure, I provide a sophisticated alternative for those seeking to resolve chronic pain, correct postural imbalances, and avoid invasive surgical interventions.
My clinical expertise is centered on the understanding that musculoskeletal pain is often a symptom of deeper structural misalignment. I utilizes Myoskeletal Alignment to systematically address joint dysfunction and "lock-ups" in the neck, back, and pelvis, facilitating a reset of the body’s natural alignment. This is seamlessly integrated with Orthopedic Massage protocols designed to treat specific soft-tissue injuries and functional limitations. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all methodology, I develop personalized, multidisciplinary treatment plans that target the root cause of dysfunction, whether it stems from athletic overexertion, post-surgical recovery, or the repetitive stresses of modern life.
My professional journey is marked by a commitment to continuous clinical evolution. I have undergone advanced training and contiuous education to refine my skills in treating complex conditions such as sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and rotator cuff injuries. By combining deep-tissue precision with a profound understanding of biomechanics, I empower my patients to reclaim their mobility and achieve long-term physical resilience. My practice stands as a destination for individuals who demand a higher level of corrective care, providing the essential tools to move without restriction and return to an active, pain-free lifestyle.
Along my journey of training and learning, I have met and studied with mentors and bodyworkers who have strengthened my passion for bodywork and many who have taken me under their wing and taught me much of what I do today to help many people. I now feel that my vision disability is a strength to me in this field and enables me to be more in tuned with my work.
I have volunteered my work at the MS Challenge walk in Cape Cod, MA and the Boston Marathon in Boston, MA for many years as well as other various athletic events. I truly enjoy working with athletes to help them complete their goals as well as helping the everyday office worker have a more comfortable life.
